Past companion/eldercare experience and qualifications:
I started to become a companion for my grandmother the day I was born. She lived with us and was my caregiver. When I turned 12 she started having trouble getting around and I became her caregiver. We soon had to put her in a nursing home because she needed more care than I could give. When I was 16 I started working as an Administrative Assistant at the nursing home she was in. At 17 I recieved my Certified Nusing Aide license from the state of Kansas. At 18 I started working for the same nursing home as a personal care provider to residents. I still work at the same nursing home today when I'm home from college. I enjoy taking care of the elderly. Because of my close bond with my grandmother I loved being around them. Today I still help take care of my other grandma as well. I can help with personal care, light cooking and cleaning, companionship, and any other basic care needed. I am reliable.
