Hi,
I have extensive child care & medical experience & I am able to easily handle children with disabilities, medical & psychological issues.
I have been a SAHM for 7 years, a Nanny for 15, & a caregiver to the elderly for 10, & I have worked as an EMT/Firefighter since I was 21.
I also have a background as a preschool teacher but decided that I prefer 1 on 1 care.
I have studied several aspects of child psychology in college over the past 9 years, & have been a child care provider for other families while I stayed home raising my daughter.
I home schooled both my little one & the children who were in my care during those years & found that in doing so, my child, as well as those I tended to (from ages 6 wks to 15 yr.s old), were advanced in their studies when they did begin public/private school.
Also, unless the child or parents chooses otherwise, I like to keep the children busy w/crafts, going outside or to the park, & doing a bit of Home Schooling (w/out them realizing they are learning ; ). After a busy day, w/nap & down time of course, they tend to sleep earlier & deeper @ night.
My schedule is very flexible & I have no worries that I can accommodate yours.
I understand the uncertainty of depending on a sitter, only to find out they can sometimes tend to not keep their word or you find out they did nothing but talk on the phone & ignored your baby the entire time they were there, instead of meeting your requirements for care.
It took my husband & I 3 yr.s to finally find someone who was dependable, trustworthy & treated our girl w/care & love. So, I fully comprehend how difficult it is to put the care of your most beloved into another person/s hands, & the need to know that you can trust this person beyond reproach.
I made sure that my daughter would be properly taken care of-the way I took care of her.
I have no problem with the amount of distance needed to travel to work, so please don’t be discouraged if I’m not located in the next town. Most Nannies don’t have an issue with driving a distance up to 30 miles for a family they think they can come to love and be a part of.
